Lena Baptist Church

Lena Baptist Church is a small farming church located in Conover, Ohio. When the pastor approached me to create a logo, they had several different ideas for it. First, they wanted a modern feeling logo that represented their church, that still had a bit of the same charm that you find in its congregation. They wanted to include the bell tower found on the front of the church, and they wanted to incorporate that it is “the church in the woods.”

For this design, I used a nature-inspired color palette of Royal Blue and Bright Green, with a touch of medium gray to bring the church into it a little more. I used the fonts Cronos and Blakley Condensed to create this because I felt that they gave it a fresh clean look, while still having an almost Roman feel in the subtext. 

The mark was created by first photographing their church and bell tower then simplifying it down to its most recognizable form, I then incorporated that into a circle with a cross in it and stylized the design so that everything matched and each part of the logo would work with the next.

This logo is used on everything within the church, including all of the staff's work shirts, on all signage for the church, on their website and social media, on different promotional products handed out to the community,  and on their weekly bulletin.
